Reading broadens the mind while writing sharpens the mind.
Writing helps you to develop deeper into your topic, to focus and to refine your thoughts.
Blogging helps you present your thoughts in the public arena. It removes barriers and exposes you to real people and real criticism or feedback.
As you grow your blog or shall I say, as you increase the quantity of materials available to your audience on your blog, the logical next step may be for you to consider turning your blog into a book. You can easily create an eBook from your online content by putting it together into logical chapters and section headings.
I have done this twice and you can download a copy of my eBook here.
How do you convert your blog into a book?
1. Look through your blog topics and see which ones can be put together in a book chapter or section. If your blogs are long enough, then each blog post could serve as a book chapter. On the other hand, for shorter blog posts, you could combine a few 3, 4 or 5 posts as sections within a chapter.
2. Rewrite the blog posts, if necessary making your stories and illustrations as timeless as possible. Don’t forget to create new and relevant title. Spend some time working on the book title if you haven’t got one.
3. Find a book editor or hire a free-lance editor to edit your book.
4. Find a graphic or book cover designer to help you create a book cover.
5. Publish your eBook and make it available to the current and prospective readers of your blog.
You will need to promote your book with new blog posts and on your social feeds. You can use quotes and some of the other contents from your book as inspirational quotes on Instagram of any other social media feed.
That’s it, you are now an author and an authority in your subject area.
Turning your blog posts into a book is a lot easier if you have the book idea at the back of your mind every time you write a blog post.
You could simply create a book title and table of contents and then write blog posts to fill the book content.
So, what are you waiting for? Start writing and then convert your writing into a book for many others to read.
