I have heard it said that luck is the intersection of opportunity and preparedness. So, in asking the question “how lucky are you?” we might want to rephrase the question and ask, how prepared are you for the opportunities that will be coming your way as the world economies open post pandemic.
While we are unable to predict the future… we can be prepared.
I would not like to say that I have a good idea of what industry will present the most opportunities, but looking at today’s trends I can confidently say the following:
Online learning is here to stay. Online will now become as ubiquitous as offline. It’s not just that we are buying and selling goods online, but we are meeting new people online, we are learning and teaching new skills online and we are increasingly able to do many more things across the internet than we were able to do many years ago.
So what does this mean, whatever industry you decide to back, ensure that you include the capability to reach people with your goods and services.
While the barriers to enter may have reduced, it is still as difficult to succeed in business online as it was before the pandemic.
There are billions of websites, apps and online stores out there. How will anyone find you in this vastly overpopulated market. And even when they find you, why should anyone patronise you over the 1000’s of other people doing the same thing as you.
How lucky are you?
You can create your own luck. You can increase your chances of being seen and you can increase the ease with which people can do business with you.
