5 Simple Reasons For Inaction and What You Can Do About It

Making Ideas Happen

In the summer of 1963, a young woman walked out of her job in protest of what she perceived as the ill-treatment of women in the workplace.

Not knowing what to do next,  she decides to write a book to help women start businesses. As fate would have it, she put into practice some of what she talked about in her book.

Today, Mary Kay Cosmetics began in 1968 by Mary Kay Ash, is a multi-million dollar business selling women’s cosmetics.

So what is stopping you from taking action on your ideas?

How To Achieve Your SMART Goals With 7 Simple Steps

According to a survey of British adults by ComRes, 63% of respondents have failed to keep a New Year’s resolution in the past. This means that if you are making a New Year’s resolution or setting goals this year, the odds of you failing to keep your resolution or meet or achieve your goal is 3 to 1.

So does that mean that New Year’s resolutions are a waste of time? No.

I would like to look at this statistics from a different angle and look at the 32% who managed to stick to their resolution for a length of time?

I have stopped making New Year’s resolutions but I do make goals all year round. I have set some goals for myself this year and I am looking forward to be in the minority 32% or less that achieve their goals.

Before I talk about how you can increase your chances of success with your goals, let me give you five benefits of goal setting.

Success Is A Journey And You Will Get There If You Remain On the Road

Another year is coming to an end and as most people do, I tend to reflect on the past twelve months and prepare myself for the next twelve. So how has the year been for you?

For me it’s been a good year and I have to thank God for that. Not that I achieved everything I set out to do but I am pleased with the milestones reached and I look forward to next year with faith and hope.

One word that stands out for me at this point is perseverance.

I like to describe this as the ability to stay on course despite all obstacles. And I think I am going to need to develop this as I go forward into next year.
